On July 31, 2024, LG Electronics begin on a meaningful journey to Nagcarlan, Laguna, to unveil a significant Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project: the “LG Library On The Go.” This mobile library initiative is designed to foster a love for reading and learning among children in the community.

The Vision Behind LG Library On The Go
In today’s digital age, children often become engrossed in gadgets, overshadowing the joys and benefits of reading physical books. The “LG Library On The Go” initiative aims to address this issue by bringing books directly to the community, enriching the minds of young readers, and fostering a lifelong love for reading. Reading books not only imparts knowledge but also broadens imagination and opens up new worlds of possibilities.

Manaol Elementary School: The First Beneficiary
Manaol Elementary School was selected as the first beneficiary of this project, part of the LG Ambassador Challenge – 100 Days of Miracles, a series of CSR activities in partnership with Korean Food for the Hungry International. This initiative, proposed by Charlene Aguilar, promises to make a substantial impact not only on Manaol Elementary School but also on surrounding communities. The mobile library will travel to various locations, broadening the horizons of children across the region.

Expanding Horizons Through Mobility
The unique aspect of the “LG Library On The Go” is its mobility. Unlike traditional libraries confined to a single location, this mobile library can travel to various communities, ensuring children from different areas have access to books and learning materials. This approach ensures a wider reach and greater impact, promoting literacy and learning across multiple regions.

Opening Remarks by LG Philippines Managing Director, Nakhyun Seong

The launch event was a grand affair, attended by prominent figures from LG Philippines. Managing Director Nakhyun Seong, Head of Corporate Marketing Ana Marie Salapantan, and Marketing Communications Manager Anthony George Constantin were present to show their support and commitment to this noble cause. Their presence underscored the importance of the initiative and LG Electronics’ dedication to making a positive impact on society.

The inauguration ceremony was filled with excitement and hope. Children eagerly explored the mobile library, flipping through the pages of books that sparked their curiosity and imagination. It was a heartwarming sight to see young minds so engaged and enthusiastic about reading.

The Impact of LG Library On The Go
Projects like “LG Library On The Go” are truly inspiring. Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) that organize book reading sessions have seen firsthand the transformative power of storytelling. During these sessions, children actively engage with the stories, ask questions, and express their thoughts and feelings. After the readings, talk-back sessions allow children to share their reactions to the stories and discuss how they can apply the lessons learned to their own lives. This interactive approach deepens their understanding and makes the reading experience more meaningful.

The success of the “LG Library On The Go” project at Manaol Elementary School is just the beginning. There are hopes to see this initiative expand to other schools and communities across the Philippines. By bringing books and learning resources directly to children, the project aims to cultivate a new generation of readers and lifelong learners.

LG Electronics’ unwavering support and commitment to this project are making a significant difference in the lives of many children, providing them with the tools and opportunities to grow and succeed. The photos and videos from the inauguration and award ceremony for the “LG Library On The Go” project capture the joyous moments and the positive impact of this initiative.

The “LG Library On The Go” is more than just a mobile library; it is a beacon of hope and a source of inspiration for children and communities. It highlights the importance of reading and learning in a world increasingly dominated by technology. As the initiative looks to the future, there is hope for more projects like this one, where the power of books and education is harnessed to create a brighter, more knowledgeable world.

Knowledge is power, and with initiatives like the “LG Library On The Go,” LG Electronics is helping to empower the next generation. Continued support and promotion of such endeavors will ensure that every child has the opportunity to discover the magic of reading and the boundless possibilities it brings.
