St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina is adored and admired by many Filipinos as a man of love, piety, and charity. According to Rev Fr. Uldarico “Ding” Camus, OFM Cap., Parish Priest of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, which the Chapel of St. Padre Pio is under, these special masses aim to commemorate and honor the beloved Italian saint of civil defense volunteers, adolescents, and stress-relief whom many turn to for prayers of protection in difficult situations especially during this ongoing pandemic.
Mass participants are expected to arrive 15 minutes before it starts or the reservation will be forfeited. Walk-in mass attendees will be accepted depending on the seat availability.
The Saint Padre Pio Feast Day Mass on September 23, 6:00PM will be livestreamed on the Shangri-La Plaza Facebook page as well.
In addition, mall guests at Shangri-La Plaza can also view a first-class relic of St. Padre Pio at the chapel every Thursday. The relic is that of an abbey cloth stained with St. Padre Pio’s blood which was authenticated by Fr. Florius Alexander Tessari in 2008.
