Six top entries emerged victorious in the first edition of this year’s World Slasher Cup 9-Cock Invitational Derby on Sunday night, February 4, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Fiscal Villanueva and Bogs (Fiscalizer Sky March 8 Coliseum De Manila), Osang Dela Cruz (Goldquest Hagibis LDI), John Gutierrez (Chicken Joy GF), Joe Paneda/Ron Aguado (For The Love Of The Game), Franny/Joy Brillantes/Jonel Daquiz from Abra (FBG Luba), and Nene Araneta (Thunderbird-III) shared the coveted WSC title after scoring 8-1 win-loss record at the end of this year’s prestigious derby.
Felix Punzalan, Engr. Amy T. Lauron, and Engr. Franny/Joy Brillantes bagged the runner-up honor, with 7.5 points.Â
Meanwhile, Nicco Olaivar/Cesar Villanueva, Jon Alegre, Darrel Mack, Paul & Duce Romias/Tata Rey, Arnel D. Pangilinan, Tinasol Gamilla/Adolf Games Gamilla, and Jimmy Junsay/Dennies Reyes/Bobby Inigo ended the competition with 7 points each.
Engr. Darlito De Guzman, Anthony Garcia/Mac Ignacio, Don Destura, Danny Lim/Neil Figueroa, Frank De Guzman Sr/Francis De Guzman Jr, and Frank Berin/Jeremy Berin/Justin Berin garnered 6.5 points at the end of the competition.
Top fighters who scored 6 points are Kenneth Boy/Lenman/Daday, Marlon Viadd, Chris Pons/Eddie King/Jun/Moy, Engr. Pal Bolivar, Jun Limpiado, Rico Manalansan, Felix Gatchalian/Pat Gatchalian, Ernie Lagundi/Alex Lagundi, Joseph Panganiban, and JLA/Frank Berin.
This edition of the World Slasher Cup, also known as the Olympics of Cockfighting, has brought together more than 200 entries to vie for the most coveted title in international derby.
